702HSFB is finally back under the Friday Night Lights as the 2023 High School Football season is back!

Las Vegas High School Football is back!

Welcome to Week 3 of the  Las Vegas high school football season! As we dive into the matchups, we will be watching some of the best games in the nation taking place right here in Las Vegas. From intense rivalries (The Bone Game) to a clash between two nationally ranked powerhouses, this week’s lineup is one of the best we have ever seen.

Kicking off the excitement is the final week of The Island Classic Football Games. The first game is a showdown between St. Louis (Hawai’i) and #3 Desert Pines at Liberty High School. With kickoff scheduled for 4 pm, this game promises an explosive start with both teams having athletes that can score anytime they touch the ball.

Following the St. Louis vs. DP game, Campbell High School (Hawai’i) and the host team, #2 Liberty, will play, with the kickoff scheduled for 6 pm. Liberty is coming off a thrilling win last Saturday vs St. Louis. One of the best players in the state, Jayden Roberson, led the way for the Patriots, catching seven balls for 245 yards and three touchdowns.

Always one of the highlights of the football season is “The Bone Game.” Rancho travels to Las Vegas High School, with the kickoff scheduled for 6 pm. The oldest tradition in Nevada high school football, the annual game, is played for “HERKIMERS BONE,” also known as “Sir Herk.” The first meeting of the series was in 1958.

Meanwhile, #4 Silverado and their 26-game winning streak head to #8 Foothill. Will the Falcons stop the Skyhawks‘ winning streak, or can Silverado find a way to keep it going? The two square off at 6 pm. Coronado and Durango face off at 6 pm, and this also looks like a game that could be close and full of action.

Miami Central takes on Bishop Gorman in Week 3 #702HSFB action

The FSM Prep Rally Game of the Week is Miami Central traveling across the country to go head-to-head against #1 Bishop Groman. The two teams have captured national attention over the years and are in the Top 5 national rankings, with Miami Central coming in at fifth, while the Gaels are ranked second.

The Gaels‘ explosive offense is led by reigning Gatorade National Player of the Year Micah Alejado, who has thrown for 12 TDs and no interceptions in his first two games. Running back Micah Ka’Appana leads the Gaels in rushing, with Devon Rice providing an alternative back that can go the distance anytime he touches the ball. The passing attack has weapons in Elija Lofton, the nation’s top tight end, and wide receivers Audy Harris and Derek Meadows are explosive targets for Alejado.

This matchup has potential high school national championship implications. If Gorman dominates as they did their first two opponents, it could speak volumes about where they are ranked after the game. If they lose, they will drop in the national polls, and hope for a national title will disappear. This will be Bishop Gorman’s biggest test to date and a game you don’t want to miss!!
