The Game of the week was Liberty vs Cathedral Catholic.

This week’s FSM Prep Rally Game of the Week was Liberty hosting Cathedral Catholic on homecoming night for the Patriots.

Liberty was looking to bounce back after a brutal 49-6 loss to Bishop Gorman last week. On Friday night, they took on Cathedral Catholic from San Diego, California.

The Patriots dominated the game from the opening kickoff. Tyrese Smith ran for two touchdowns and threw two more in the 41–7 victory over the Dons. The Liberty defense had their best performance of the year, led by Jae Beasley and Koi Pa’ao’ao.

But the FSM Player of the Game was Jayden Robertson. The senior caught two touchdown passes and ran for a two-point conversion. In total, the ultra-talented athlete had over 150 yards receiving on the night. 

Liberty will now shift its focus to Desert Pines in a matchup between two teams in the FSM Prep Rally Top 10. 

The final score in the Liberty vs Cathedral Catholic game was the Patriots beating the Dons, 49-6.

In the best game of the night, a battle between two perennial powerhouses took place on the north side of Las Vegas as #6 Desert Pines hosted #3 Arbor View. It was a tough, hard-fought game, but it was also filled with ejections, injuries, and a fight breaking out at the end of the double overtime thriller.

In the end, the Aggies won 28–27 in double overtime. But the story of the game was the unfortunate injury to UNLV football commit, DP cornerback Jaylen Allen. The talented Allen left the game late in the 4th quarter with a lower leg injury. Everyone at FSM is sending our thoughts and prayers to Jaylen. 

The other storyline was the fight that broke out after the game ended. Reportedly, the police had to use pepper spray to break it up. As of yet, there is no word about any possible suspensions from the NIAA or CCSD.

In one of the bigger upsets of the season, the Coronado Cougars beat the #4 Shadow Ridge Mustangs by the score of 28–14.

The #5 ranked Foothill Falcons beat the Las Vegas Wildcats, 41–7, and the #7 Centennial Bulldogs beat Bonanza 27-14 on the Bulldogs homecoming night.

The #1 ranked Bishop Gorman Gaels beat #10 Silverado 55-0, while #9 Faith Lutheran beat Sierra Vista 10–0. 

Liberty vs Cathedral Catholic was a blowout, but other teams played well, too.
