As we move into the fifth week of the 2022 season, teams are beginning to build impressive resumes and are separating themselves as legit contenders. With undefeated records that include victories over 5A schools, Coronado and Silverado have proven to be at the top of the 4A division.

Silverado comes into this matchup as the reigning 4A Nevada division champs who haven’t suffered a loss since the 2020 season. During this 2022 season, the Skyhawks‘ offense has averaged 53 points per game in their first three wins and possesses multiple weapons across the board. Senior Donavyn Pellot, who has nine total touchdowns on the season, and senior Caden Harris, who has rushed for 350 yards and scored eight total touchdowns, lead the offense for Silverado and will be the most significant threats.

With such a potent offense that includes multiple weapons at its disposal, Silverado has been unstoppable so far this year and will look to continue their dominance over the 4A division.

Coronado brings a high-powered offense of their own as they come into this week five matchup. So far this year, the Cougars have outscored their opponents 96-14. Coronado has proven to get it done this year in the air. Senior QB Dante Salour has thrown for 632 passing yards and three touchdowns. On the receiving end, junior Isaiah Bottely has put up 237 receiving yards on the year, and two other receivers have upwards of 100 receiving yards.

In a rematch of last year’s 4A playoffs, Coronado and Silverado will be an elite matchup of the top teams in the 4A division that will be sure to include fireworks on the offensive side of the ball.

Rancho and Las Vegas meet in week 5 for another rendition of the Battle of the Bone:

Rancho and Las Vegas square off this week for the opportunity to win Las Vegas high school football’s oldest rivalry game.

The Bone Game. Which began in 1958 and has been one of the biggest games each year for both Rancho and Las Vegas. The Wildcats have dominated the long-going series, winning the yearly tradition and “keeping the bone home” for 24 straight years. Las Vegas stands at 2-1 so far in 2022, and this week brings an opportunity to further their success and to get a statement win against their rival.

Rancho sits at 2-2 this season, and a win on Friday would help the Rams move in a positive direction for their season, as well as break their long losing streak in the Bone game.

With an opportunity to bring home the Herkimer’s Bone, Friday’s matchup will make for a great addition to the historic rivalry and is guaranteed to be an intense competition.
