FSM Presents- Preview – Week 4 – Las Vegas High School Football – 2022

Week 4 is here! This week, Spring Valley and Desert Oasis compete in the FSM Prep Rally Game of the Week and #8 nationally ranked Bishop Gorman takes on Hamilton from Arizona at home in Fertitta Field.

 

We are already a quarter into the 2022 regular season, and some teams have shown to be contenders while others are still looking for that defining win.

This week, in the FSM Prep Rally Game of the Week, 2-1 Spring Valley takes on 1-1 Desert Oasis at home in a game that could make the Grizzlies legit contenders this season with a victory.

After starting their season going 2-0 against two Las Vegas teams, the Grizzlies slipped last week against out-of-state opponent Perry from Arizona. Despite the loss, the Grizzlies are tied up with Sierra Vista and Shadow Ridge for third place in the 4A Sky Football league, with all three teams standing at 2-1. Coronado and Mojave lead the league, with both schools at 2-0. A win on Friday would keep Spring Valley in the race for the top spot in their league, while a loss could make it difficult to get back into contention.

Shadow Ridge will be prepared for the challenge as they come in with a running game that gives them a physical edge. Junior Tipisone Manu has been on a tear this season, rushing for over 100 yards in all three of the Grizzlies‘ games this year and rushing for a total of 438 yards and five touchdowns this season.

With 1-1 Desert Oasis coming in after a 55-0 blowout win against Bonanza and hopes of competing for their league, Friday’s Prep Rally Game of the Week will make for a fun matchup of two Vegas teams working to become contenders in each of their leagues.

 

 

Bishop Gorman gets a dub over St. Louis and moves forward to Arizona’s Hamilton back home:

 

The Gaels come into week 4 with a victory after a trip to Hawaii to take on St. Louis and now prepare to take on Hamilton from Arizona back home in Fertitta Field.

Gorman now sits at 2-1 on the season with two games remaining of their demanding out-of-state schedule. With games against Hamilton and Georgia’s Brookwood remaining before league play, Gorman will look to defeat their remaining out-of-state opponents to have a strong record as they begin league play in week 6.

Hamilton has been one of Arizona’s premiere high school teams in the past and will be a challenge the Gaels will be wise not to take lightly. The Huskies have played only one game so far this year, in which they defeated their opponent 38-14 last week.

With little film to go off, the Gaels will need to come into Friday’s matchup prepared for whatever Hamilton brings.
