FSM Essential Recap: Las Vegas High School Football Week 3- 2022

Week 3 of the Las Vegas High School Football season is in the books. Franchise Sports Media has highlights and pictures from select games around the valley, including the FSM Prep Rally Game of the Week, Silverado vs. Palo Verde. 

Week 3 of the 702 High School Football season concluded with another great week of games, including The FSM Prep Rally Game of the Week, Silverado vs. Palo Verde. 

4A Silverado comes into week 3 with a 1-0 record after defeating 5A Centennial in week 1. This week, the Skyhawks take on another 5A opponent, Palo Verde, with hopes of improving their record to 2-0.

Silverado defeated their second 5A opponent of the season and improved to 2-0, outscoring them by a combined total of 99-14:

The Skyhawks came into this week’s matchup against Palo Verde as the reigning 4A Nevada state champs and a perfect record that stretches back to their undefeated season last year, a total of 14 games.

Silverado’s high-powered offense was in full effect on Friday night as the Skyhawks began the game with a 49-yard touchdown run from senior Caden Harris on the first play. Silverado scored 14 unanswered points in the first quarter and would have had 21 had it not been for a holding penalty on a Donavyn Pellot punt return for a TD.

The offense continued to produce in the second quarter as the Senior Pellot caught a 39-yard touchdown pass to put the Skyhawks up 21-0. After Palo failed to catch the ball on the ensuing kick-off, the Silverado received the ball on the 6-yard line, and Pellot ran the ball up the middle for another touchdown, making the score 27-0 after a missed extra point attempt.

Opening the second half, Palo Verde showed they still had some fight left as they returned the opening kick-off for a touchdown for their lone score of the game, making it 27-7.

The Silverado would ultimately end the game, though, after two touchdown catches from Harris put Silverado up 42-7 and began the running clock until time expired.

Silverado had another night of high offensive productivity and great performances from their players, including the FSM Prep Rally Player of the Game, Caden Harris, who rushed for 169 yards and had three touchdowns on the night. The defense had an impressive performance and prevented the Panther’s offense from scoring any points. Special teams and penalties were the few mistakes Silverado made throughout the game and will surely be focal points of improvement next week as the Skyhawks prepare to take on Sierra Vista at home in week 4 of the season.
