Bubba Thompson had Round Rock up 3-0 after two innings last night. He smashed his 10th home run of the season to open the scoring in the 1st, then drove home Disobel Arias with a single in the 2nd.

Luis Barrera brought it to within a run for Vegas in the bottom of the 3rd, cashing in two key runs with a single. Nash Knight added some insurance for the Express, however, the following inning, making it 4-2 with a run-scoring knock.

The offense began to thrive for the Aviators in the 4th and 5th innings. Dalton Kelly tied things with a 2-run shot in the 4th before Nate Mondou gave Vegas the lead by singling home Smith. Vegas posted two more runs in the inning, with Christian Lopes doubling home a run.

Dalton Kelly ended up going deep two innings in a row last night, hammering a 3-run shot this time for his 10th of the year. With Vegas up 10-3, Mondou joined the fun in the inning with a solo shot for his 2nd. Andy Ibanez struck for a dinger in the 7th, but Round Rock had no answer ultimately for the offensive onslaught.

The Express left 24 runners on base, as the Aviators more than capitalized to secure the victory. Christian Lopes and Nate Mondou combined to go 7-7 on two perfect nights at the plate. Kelly’s two home runs help build the difference.

Andy Ibanez was the first to strike offensively in the top of the 1st, singling home Steele Walker. Dermis Garcia cashed in Barrera with a sac-fly in the home half to erase the damage.

Jack Cushing ran into more trouble in the 3rd and 4th innings, ending his night there. Josh Sale laced a 2-run shot to make it 3-1, while Bubba Thompson sent his 9th over the wall to put Round Rock up by three runs in the 4th.

Matt Davidson responded with his impressive 16th of the season in the home half of the 4th. Elier Hernandez would bring it back to a 3-run game the next inning with a solo shot, but Vegas brought themselves back. Pache and Dermis Garcia brought in runs in the 5th before Langeliers ultimately tied the game at 5-5 with a solo shot to dead center l in the 7th.

Two runs scored on a critical error by Pache in center the next inning, however, leading to Round Rock grabbing an 8-5 lead through 9. Barrera would connect for his 5th dinger of the season in back-to-back nights, but the offense could not expand from there, handing Jesus Tinoco his 7th save of the year.

Both teams connected for three home runs, with Davidson and Langeliers climbing the league leaderboard in that category. The difference was the error by Pache. Only 5 of the eight runs were earned last night to send the Express home with the win.

The Express opened up the scoring in the 1st inning after the first two batters reached base. Nick Solak produced a run with a ground out before Jared Koenig could finally escape.

Vegas had the correct answer in the home half of the inning offensively. Shea Langeliers hammered a game-tying triple beyond the center fielder’s reach. With the score even at 1-1, the Aviators could not add more after Allen ended the inning grounding out for 2.

The Express pulled away for good in the 2nd and 5th innings. Both Nash Knight and Elier Hernandez brought in runs in the 2nd with singles to give Round Rock a 3-1 lead. Ezequiel Duran then connected for a commanding 2-run shot in the 5th inning to give the Express a comfortable lead by 4.

Luis Barrera provided some excitement for the home crowd by blasting his 4th home run of the season in the home half of the inning. However, the offense could only produce one more run after, as the Express would cease to lose control of the matter. Koenig went six innings in his start, allowing ten hits and all five runs for the Express, resulting in the loss.

Shea Langeliers went 3-5 with two runs batted in, but the rest of the lineup was cold. The Aviators left 21 runners on base while Rock Round only left seven. Hernandez and Duran stole the show combining to go 6-7 with three runs batted, keeping Vegas behind.
