Las Vegas Raiders – Inspiring in the community #2
The Las Vegas Raiders announced Desert Ford Dealers as an official automotive partner at Allegiant Stadium. On Saturday, the Gaudin Ford family welcomed Raiders rookies Johnathan Abram and Clelin Ferrell to Las Vegas.
The Las Vegas community had the opportunity to meet Abram (Safety), and Ferrell (Defensive End), two of the teams’ first-round draft picks in last year’s draft. Raider Nation flooded the dealership and showed the two rookies that Sin City bleeds Silver and Black.
The event was free of charge, and anyone who donated a children’s book became eligible to get an autograph from each player. All guests had the leisure to not only interact one on one with both players, but they also had the opportunity to take photos and receive autographs on jersey’s, hats, helmets, flags, and more.
“The event was amazing. Surprising how many people showed up. It felt like we were tailgating in Oakland but a little nicer, I guess,” said Javier Anaya, owner of Pinches Taco, the first Raiders bar in Las Vegas.
“Honestly, I tell people being around the Raider Nation is a special feeling. When I use to take people to tailgate in Oakland, they were like, ‘Oh my gosh Oakland‘ they got there, and everyone was hugging each other. It is an amazing feeling.” Anaya said.
Families, friends, and children traveled to Las Vegas to experience this once in a lifetime moment. To opportunity doesn’t come along often to be able to shake hands and banter with their favorite athletes.
Abram and Ferrell were very personable to their audience. They made each guest feel special by providing their undivided attention to each fan and autograph.
“Vegas is getting bigger and better, as you can see as far as the draft coming out here. A guy drove all the way from Texas; there are no fans like Raider fans,” states Abram. “The thing I am looking forward to most is coming in. We have a new slate, and we get to basically rewrite the future of what the Las Vegas Raiders will be. Moving from LA, back to Oakland, and now here to Vegas, and hopefully, this is the spot we will be forever.”
“Ford is the official vehicle of Allegiant stadium,” states Julie Cane, marketing manager of Gaudin Ford. “The guys have contacted us, and they are driving Ford cars. We have a great relationship with them, and they have been nothing but amazing to work with. They are the nicest, most genuine humans in any category as far as athletes and celebrities, just amazing. I’m originally from Buffalo but, I am now a Raiders fan.”
The Las Vegas Raiders plan to host more charity events and are excited to give back to their community.
“People only know Las Vegas for the strip, partying, and casinos,” states Ferrell. “I can’t wait to get out into the community and really help the community grow. I know there is a lot of people in this area that still need help, and that’s our job to use the platform to help others reach theirs.”
Pink Box accompanied Gaudin Ford in treating the fans to doughnuts and coffee as they exited the premises.
“Pink Box Doughnuts are out here, repping the Raiders,” said Sarah Bronsky, an employee of Pink Box Doughnuts. “Our doughnuts are free for everyone. We are doing this out of donation, and we love to get around town.”
In the meantime, while these two athletes prepare themselves for the big move to Las Vegas, they are also on the search for new homes. These gentlemen are proud to announce that they are apart of the last draft class of the Raiders in Oakland, and you can expect to see their faces more often around Las Vegas.
