Walker Buehler (6 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 11 SO) found his groove as a George Clinton funk song, giving up one earned from Trevor Story. The pitching carried the Dodgers through 6 solid innings, and a bullpen of Adam Kolarek, Caleb Ferguson, and Kenley Jansen to blank the Rockies.
The Dodgers played the hits, ten to total the game, started with Cody Bellinger (3 AB, 2 H, 1 RBI, 1 BB) to put the Dodgers on the board early from the very first inning.

Game 2 – Win 4-3

Cody Bellinger wins the game for the Dodgers in grand fashion with a walk-off in the 9th, Dustin May (5 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 SO) did his job on the mound as he held the Rockies to 1 run (a home run from Sam Hillard) through 5 innings. The Dodgers bullpen cycled through 6 pitchers that gave up a total of 2 runs in the 6th and 7th innings, but overall banded together to pitch a 4- hitter. The Dodgers and the Rockies played more evenly in this game, but hats off to the pitching staff for being the support.
Also, how fast is Mookie Betts? Corey Seager hit a single, and Betts turned on the jets and ran from 1st to 3rd, then home to give Seager an RBI even though he got caught up between first and second.

Game 3 – Win 11-3

Mookie Betts broke a record for the Dodgers in becoming the first player to hit two home runs and steal two bases in a single game. The Dodgers also lit up the Rockies pitching staff by slugging seven home runs, talk about hitting in bunches. This game became out of reach in the 4th inning when Enrique Hernandez blasted a 3-run home run to take the lead 5-2 and never look back. In these types of games, you couldn’t give up that many runs against the Dodgers because their pitching staff would be stingy and not give up an inch.

Cody Bellinger, Max Muncy, Mookie Betts, Corey Seager, and Will Smith must have had gallons of gasoline because their power exploded like fireworks. The Dodgers won because of the Longball, and everyone was delivering in a big-bad way. The Dodgers held the Rockies at three runs as the Dodgers continued to add more to close the series with a bang, With this win, they finally get a day of rest before their next series.

San Francisco Giants Series Preview

The Dodgers (22-8) on fire will travel to Oracle Park to face their rivals the San Francisco Giants (14-16) for the last time in a 3-game series. The Giants have forced their way back into the wild card picture after a 6-game winning streak, and a series sweep against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Mike Yastrzemski is batting .309 with a 1.074 OPS. 7 HR, 23 RBIs, and 23 walks through 30 games; if that is not MVP material, I don’t know what is. His work in the outfield is outstanding, and he stands to be a real threat against the Dodgers’ pitching staff. Let’s do it one more time, and maybe see each other again under the postseason lights.
