Another weekend is upon us, which means another night of fights is in order as the UFC returns home to Las Vegas.

After its last stint on Fight Island for 2020, the UFC is now back home in Las Vegas with another night of fights on deck with UFC Fight Night on ESPN+. This card could hold significant meaning as this may be the end for one of the sports greatest fighters of all-time.

Former middleweight champion and all-time legend Anderson Silva (34-10 23 KOs) might step inside the octagon for the last time in his legendary career. Across from the Spiderman will be Uriah Hall (15-9 11 KOs), whose style is very similar to Silva, who inspired so many fighters of his and future generations.

These two were set to first meet back in 2016 at UFC 198, but Silva had to pull out due to an illness. Now four years later, these two finally will square off against one another as Hall looks to capitalize on the biggest fight of his career while Silva may be riding off into the sunset.

At 45 years old, the Brazilian legend obviously doesn’t have a long run of fighting left in him. He’s done everything there is to do in the sport, setting records, giving us endless highlights, and doing it all in a way that made what he was doing seem like he was in the matrix. If this truly is the last outing for Silva, he surely will look to go out with a bang, but that won’t be easy as Hall has shown to be a tough out through his career. He isn’t to be taken lightly and isn’t going to roll over so easily.

Hall won the seventeenth season of The Ultimate Fighter. Highlighted by a spinning back kick KO, many saw Hall as a possible Silva like clone that would be fun to see matched up against the legend one day. Both like to keep the fight standing, utilizing ruthless kicks, movement, and the power to shut one’s lights out in an instant. It seemed inevitable that one day these two would meet. While a win over the veteran would seem like it wouldn’t do much for Hall’s career going forward, a win over one of if not the sports all-time great will be a highlight always mentioned on one’s resume.

To do so, Hall will need to make a decision. Does he play counter and wait for an opening to attack, or does he bring the fight to Silva? Like his nickname, The Spiderman suggests, Silva waits for you to come in far enough, so you caught in his web. He then unleashes his own attack that, as his record shows, not many have survived.

We may see some tricks this Halloween, but we will certainly get some treats when these two warriors take center stage.

Also on the card is heavyweight and former NFL standout Greg Hardy (6-2 5 KOs) as he looks to continue his growth in the sport and show that he belongs among the top names in the division.

UFC Fight Night will surely be a fun event to watch as always and will give us possibly one more chance to see a legend do what he does best.
