After being victorious in their last match against Fresno, Las Vegas Lights FC fell short in a tough battle to Austin Bold FC, 4-1. Austin was led by Kléber, who pulled off the “perfect hat trick”, by scoring goals with both his feet and head. Kléber got Bold FC on the board first in the 21st minute when he shot a high kick to the top of the net from the top of the box.

Lights FC quickly tied things up two minutes later off of a Panzani Sousa goal.

In the 31st minute, Kléber scored his second goal of the match off a high cross from Xavier Baez. Going into the half, Austin led 2-1. The deficit only got tougher for Las Vegas in the 51st minute, when André Lima found the back of the net to increase Bold FC’s lead, 3-1. Just when the match seemed to be over, Kléber headed in a goal in added time off a cross by Sean McFarlane to complete the hat trick and put the score at 4-1.

Despite the loss, Las Vegas still has a shot at making it into the USL playoff race. They currently sit in 14th place and four points out of the last playoff spot.

Lights FC next match is on the road against Colorado Springs Switchbacks on Saturday, September 28th at 5 pm. They then play their next two matches back at Cashman Field against San Antonio FC on October 5th and Reno 1868 FC on October 12th.
