Two teams that came into this season with high hopes will look to end it on a positive note. The Oakland Raiders (6-8) will be heading to Los Angeles to square off against the Chargers (5-9) at 1:05 p.m. PT on Sunday. Both the Raiders and the Chargers are coming off disappointing losses. Even though the Raiders have a slim chance to slip into the playoffs, the Chargers hopes of making it are no longer in sight.

It has been a tough go for the Raiders as of late. Having lost four games in a row, they are looking to bounce back in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, the Chargers haven’t been any better, going 1-4 in their last five games. This is going to be a matchup between two teams who are struggling, and at the end of the day, it will be about pride.

The loss to the Jaguars left a sour taste in the mouths of Raider Nation and especially for the fans of Oakland. However, it hasn’t been all bad for the Raiders. Carr’s consistency on the offensive end led him to achieve a career-high with 70 percent of his passes completed with 19 touchdowns and just eight interceptions. Not to mention the stellar play from rookie Josh Jacobs, who set a franchise rookie record for 1,150 rushing yards.

The defense, on the other hand, has remained a struggle for the Raiders. They are currently sitting at 29th in the league in forced turnovers and 25th in sacks. Los Angeles ranks among the top five defenses in the league with the fourth-best pass defense — allowing just about 197 passing yards per game. The leader of the pack for this defensive squad is none other than Joey Bosa with 10.5 sacks as well as seasoned veteran linebacker Thomas Davis with 108 tackles.

A win for the Raiders means everything as it opens the door ever so slightly for them to sneak into the playoffs. For the Chargers, a win here would only hurt their chances at higher draft picks. Oakland has what it takes to upset the Chargers, but it will be about overcoming what’s been hurting them the most, defense and injuries. Meanwhile, the Chargers have more healthy bodies ready to go for the game. It will be a hard-fought battle for both teams. Nonetheless, it all comes down to who wants to end their season on a high note.
